JBL Control 16C/T-BK Overview

The JBL Control 16C/T-BK is a full-range ceiling speaker ideal for a variety of environments including cafés, commercial spaces, airport lounges, reception areas, and courtrooms. It features a two-way coaxial design comprising a 6.5-inch cone driver paired with a 0.75-inch liquid-cooled soft-dome tweeter.

Designed for consistent sound quality even off-axis, this speaker performs well in settings where listeners may not be directly facing the speaker. It covers a frequency range from 62 Hz to 20 kHz and operates at an 8-ohm impedance in direct or bypass mode.

The Control 16C/T-BK supports both low-impedance operation and distributed audio systems via 70V/100V transformer taps. Its power handling includes 100 watts continuous program power, 50 watts continuous pink noise, and a peak power of 200 watts. The speaker offers a sensitivity of 91 dB between 1 kHz and 16 kHz.

This model includes a vented, paintable baffle made from UV-resistant UL94-V0 and UL94-5HB rated materials, along with a pre-installed blind-mount backcan for quick and easy installation. It also features dual conduit and cable clamps with strain reliefs, allowing secure attachment of two cables or flexible conduits.

Available in black or white finishes, the Control 16C/T-BK is rated for plenum use and suitable for ceiling installations up to 60 mm thick.
