The Yamaha LHT-0807UMS is an 8″ × 7″ rack tom from Yamaha’s acclaimed Live Custom Hybrid Oak series, designed for drummers who demand both visual impact and powerful, focused sound.

It features a 7-ply hybrid oak shell, with oak inner and outer plies sandwiching a phenolic center layer. This construction delivers a bold, immediate attack with deep low-end punch, making it perfect for modern rock, metal, and fusion styles.

The tom uses a 45° bearing edge with a 1.5 mm rounded edge, allowing for crisp articulation while preserving warmth. Outfitted with 2.3 mm DynaHoops and Yamaha’s Absolute single-post lugs, it stays stable under high tension and maximizes resonance.

Finished in the stunning Uzu Magma Sunburst (UMS), the shell showcases a fiery red-to-black burst fade that highlights the natural oak grain through Yamaha’s traditional uzukuri brushing technique. This finish not only looks dramatic on stage but also reveals the unique wood texture beneath a glossy top coat.

The LHT-0807UMS comes fitted with Remo Clear Emperor batter and Clear Ambassador resonant heads, providing a balanced, punchy tone right out of the box. It is compatible with Yamaha’s Y.E.S.S. III mounting system, which supports shell vibration and allows for more natural sustain.
