Description

The Moog Grandmother (MOD‑GRAND) is a semi‑modular analog synthesizer that blends vintage-style modular synthesis with modern convenience. It features a full 32‑key keyboard and an all‑analog sound engine — but thanks to its semi‑modular design, you can start playing immediately without needing to patch cables. At the same time, for those who want deep sound design and modular flexibility, a large set of patch points lets you re‑route and customize signals, integrate other modules, or process external audio.

Key Features & Capabilities

  • 100% analog sound engine — Two voltage‑controlled oscillators (VCOs), selectable waveforms, and hard sync give classic analog tone and flexibility.

  • 32‑note full-size velocity‑sensitive keyboard — Allows expressive playing with pitch‑bend, mod wheel, and variable glide controls for performance dynamics.

  • Classic Moog ladder filter + high-pass filter — Provides the warm, rich, and “creamy” tone Moog is known for, with resonance and self-oscillation for classic synth textures.

  • Extensive modulation options — Includes modulation oscillator (LFO), noise generator, external input, one-pole high-pass filter, ADSR envelope generator, and a patchable attenuator and mult (multiple outs) — giving many routing and sound‑shaping possibilities.

  • Semi‑modular with 41 patch points (21 inputs, 16 outputs + 4‑jack mult) — You can experiment with modular-style patching for unique sounds; internal connections are pre-wired so you can start without patching, but you also have full modular flexibility when you want it.

  • Built-in step sequencer & arpeggiator — Create sequences up to 256 notes (per sequence) and store multiple sequences (e.g. for looping bass lines, arpeggios, or evolving patterns).

  • Onboard spring reverb effect — Adds lush ambience and space to sounds; can be used with the synth engine or to process external audio (like guitar, drum machines, etc.).
