Description
The Moog Mavis is a compact, semi‑modular analog synthesizer kit that you assemble yourself (with no soldering required). Once built it acts as a standalone synth with a 1‑octave keyboard, or you can remove it from its enclosure and use it as a 44‑HP Eurorack module — giving you full modular flexibility so you can integrate it into larger synth rigs or modular setups.
It brings the legendary sound character associated with Moog — rich analog oscillators and filters — but also introduces newer creative tools (like a wavefolder) for more experimental sound design.
Key Features
-
Analog sound engine: Includes a voltage‑controlled oscillator (VCO) that offers mixable saw and square waveforms, plus pulse‑width modulation and modulation‑source mixing for dynamic, harmonically rich tones.
-
Classic Moog filter: A –24 dB Moog low‑pass ladder filter gives you that familiar warm, punchy Moog tone — great for bass, leads, and classic analog textures.
-
Wavefolding & hybrid synthesis: Mavis is the first Moog instrument to include a diode wavefolder, allowing you to blend subtractive synthesis (oscillator → filter) with additive-style wavefolding — greatly expanding the palette of possible sounds, from mellow to aggressive.
-
Modular utilities & patch bay: Built‑in utilities (attenuators, offsets, multipliers, DC‑coupled mixer), plus a 24‑point patch bay (3.5 mm CV/audio) — perfect for patching modulation, CV, audio signals, or connecting with other semi‑modular/Eurorack gear.
