The JBL MTC-16WG-BK is a weather-resistant grille specifically developed to boost the durability and lifespan of JBL’s Control 10 Series ceiling speakers, particularly the Control 16C/T-BK model. In humid environments where standard steel grilles can quickly corrode, this grille offers a long-lasting alternative made from rust-proof Aluminum 1060 alloy. Its rugged construction is topped with a polyester powder-coated satin finish that resists surface pitting, helping the grille maintain its smooth, clean look over time.

Ideal for ceiling-mounted speaker systems in covered outdoor areas or damp indoor spaces, the MTC-16WG-BK replaces the factory-installed grille with a quick and secure press-fit design. When installing, it's recommended to press near the edges to avoid denting the grille due to uneven pressure. A built-in scrim behind the grille adds another layer of defense, breaking up water droplets before they can reach the speaker components.

For added customization, the grille may be lightly painted to match specific décor needs—but care should be taken not to obstruct the scrim or ventilation openings. To further enhance corrosion resistance, installers can opt to swap the standard mounting screws with stainless steel or other weather-resistant alternatives—especially in more demanding environments.
