Description

N1000 Series AV-over-IP Encoder Overview

The N1000 Series Encoders and Decoders offer a cost-effective, local AV-over-IP switching platform that converts video into a lightly compressed IP stream. This method delivers high image quality with very low latency, making it ideal for point-to-point distribution, compact 2×1 switching, and scalable systems up to 32×32—using standard, off-the-shelf Layer-3 network switches.

The NMX-ENC-N1115-WP incorporates the advanced encoding performance of the NMX-ENC-N1133 into a compact 2-gang wallplate design. It can be mounted in walls, lecterns, or floor boxes using a standard US 2-gang back box, and requires only a single category cable to provide both power and Ethernet connectivity.

Typical Applications

The NMX-ENC-N1115 is well suited for video distribution systems and matrices smaller than 32×32. Common installations include:

  • Conference rooms

  • Huddle spaces

  • Lecterns (internal or adjacent mounting)

Key Features

  • Sub-Frame Latency: Combined encoding and decoding latency of only 10 ms at 60 fps.

  • Minimal Proprietary Compression (MPC): Visually lossless compression applied to all supported resolutions.

  • Wallplate Design: Fits into a standard 2-gang US back box for easy installation in walls, floors, or lecterns.

  • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Removes the need for an external power supply.

  • Flexible Configuration: Supports point-to-point links, simple 2×1 switching, or cost-effective matrices up to 32×32.

  • Dedicated Inputs: Separate HDMI and VGA connectors for source flexibility.

Specifications

Video

  • Digital Inputs: HDMI, DVI-D*, Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++)*

  • Analog Inputs: HD-15 VGA, Component*

  • Output: Ethernet

  • Formats: 8-channel PCM, 2-channel stereo

  • A/D Conversion: 16-bit at 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, and 48 kHz

Performance

  • Latency: 10 ms at 60 fps (encode + decode)

  • Bandwidth: Approximately 840 Mb/s, depending on resolution

Note: Network latency is additional. Video scaling adds one frame of latency (17 ms at 60 fps).

Communications

  • Ethernet: 10/100/1000 Mbps, auto-negotiating, DHCP, Auto IP, Static IP

  • HDMI: HDCP support with EDID management
