NMX-ENC-N1134A Encoder Overview

The NMX-ENC-N1134A brings the high-performance encoding capabilities of the N1000 Series to HD-SDI sources. It allows SDI video to be integrated directly onto the network without the need for an SDI-to-HDMI converter, reducing cost and complexity. Unlike most networked AV solutions that rely on H.264 or H.265—introducing significant compression and latency—this encoder uses a minimally compressed IP format, maintaining excellent video quality and delivering it with imperceptible latency. Once on the network, the SDI signal can be decoded using any N1000 Series decoder.

The N1000 Series Encoders and Decoders provide an affordable local AV-over-IP switching platform that packetizes video into a lightly compressed IP stream. This allows deployment from small 2×1 presentation switchers to large 32×32 matrix switchers, using standard Layer-3 network switches. Any source can be routed to one or more displays over Cat5e cable through Layer-2 or Layer-3 network infrastructure.
