Description

NMX-ENC-N2135A & NMX-DEC-N2235A Encoder/Decoder Overview

The SVSI JPEG2000 NMX-ENC-N2135A encoder and NMX-DEC-N2235A decoder provide one of the industry’s most versatile AV-over-IP solutions for distributing high-quality video over a converged network. Using JPEG2000 compression, these devices deliver low-latency, cinema-grade HD video, making them ideal for environments that require top-tier image quality.

The encoder can distribute nearly any video source onto an existing IP network, making the stream accessible to any endpoint via copper or fiber connections. The decoder converts networked AV streams back to HDMI for display. This flexible system allows any source to be directed to any display, enabling large, cost-effective video switching and distribution systems without proprietary cabling or dedicated switching hardware. User-selectable bandwidth control (10–200 Mbps) ensures optimal balance between video quality and network load.

Key Features

  • Keyboard & Mouse Extension (KVM over IP): Extend control over the network for touchscreens, desktops, and other KVM applications.

  • Customizable Security Options:

    • Security can be disabled for open access (e.g., call centers).

    • Security can restrict access to specific computers or defined groups, ideal for sensitive environments such as command centers.

  • Unlimited Matrix Scalability: Any number of inputs can connect to any number of outputs, enabling virtually unlimited video matrix expansion.

  • Plug-and-Play Installation: Auto-detect technology reduces installation and programming time.

  • Design Flexibility: Compatible with all AMX SVSI N2000 Series products, allowing optimal device selection for each endpoint.

  • Input & Output Scaling: Scaling can be performed in either encoder or decoder to maximize compatibility with different sources and displays.

  • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Simplifies installation by eliminating the need for local power supply; devices can also be powered via 12VDC for high-density rack setups.

  • Infrared (IR) Control: IR emitter connection supports control of IR-only display devices.

  • Fast Installation: Phoenix connectors simplify connections for power, IR, RS232 serial, and analog audio.

  • Balanced & Unbalanced Audio: Supports embedded 7.1 audio for flexible system design.

  • Pass-Through HDMI: Enables local display integration, such as desktop PC monitoring.

  • Multiple Connection Options: RJ45 and SFP network ports plus HDMI video input/output.

  • KVM Support: Single USB-B host and dual USB-A device ports for KVM-over-IP applications.

  • Control Flexibility: Onboard control or integration with third-party control systems.
