The PHXB-2016MRSOB is a 20" × 16" bass drum from Yamaha’s top-of-the-line PHX (Phoenix) series, designed for professional drummers who want unmatched tone, sensitivity, and stunning aesthetics.

• Hybrid Shell Construction:
  Features Yamaha’s signature 11-ply hybrid shell, with a hard Jatoba core for strong low-end punch, Kapur intermediate plies for warmth and depth, and Maple inner/outer plies to add clarity and balance. The outermost layer is a luxurious Burled Ash veneer, which adds complexity to both look and tone.

• Finish:
  Comes in a striking Matte Red Sunburst Over Burled Ash (MRSOB) finish. The red satin burst beautifully highlights the unique grain patterns of the Burled Ash, creating a deep, elegant, and modern visual effect on stage.

• Bearing Edge:
  30° bearing edge with a 1.5 mm radius designed specifically for bass drums. This shape helps produce a strong, focused attack with controlled sustain and powerful low-end presence.

• Hardware:
  Equipped with Yamaha’s hook-lug system, which ensures even tuning and maximum shell resonance. The drum includes wood bass drum hoops, adding warmth to the overall sound and enhancing the classic appearance.
