This model features Yamaha’s exclusive 11-ply hybrid shell, which combines a Jatoba core for deep, punchy low end, Kapur for warm midrange, and Maple inner and outer plies for brightness and clarity. This combination produces an exceptionally rich, versatile, and powerful sound.

A 30-degree bearing edge, carefully shaped for bass drum response, provides fast, punchy attack and focused sustain — perfect for both live and studio situations.
