The Yamaha PHXB-2216MGMN is a 22″ x 16″ bass drum from Yamaha’s flagship PHX (Phoenix) series — built for drummers who want the ultimate in tone, resonance, and refined aesthetics.

It features Yamaha’s unique 11-ply hybrid shell construction, combining a Jatoba core (for deep, powerful low end), Kapur plies (for warm, rich mids), and Maple inner and outer layers (for crisp attack and brightness). This results in a remarkably full, articulate, and dynamic sound that stands out in any musical setting.

A 30-degree bearing edge, specially designed for bass drums, enhances attack and punch while keeping sustain tight and controlled.

This drum is an undrilled "R-version", meaning there are no tom mounts on the shell. This allows the shell to vibrate more freely, delivering maximum resonance and pure, open tone.
