The Yamaha PHXB-2216MGRBCS is a 22″ x 16″ bass drum from Yamaha’s flagship PHX (Phoenix) series, designed for drummers who want premium sound and eye-catching style.

It uses Yamaha’s exclusive 11-ply hybrid shell construction, featuring a strong Jatoba core for deep, powerful low-end, Kapur plies for warmth, and Maple inner and outer layers for bright, articulate attack. This shell design produces a rich, full, and dynamic sound with excellent projection and balance.

A 30-degree bearing edge, specifically shaped for bass drums, adds a focused, punchy attack and controlled sustain.

This model is an undrilled "R-version" shell (no tom mount), which maximizes resonance and allows the drum’s full natural tone to come through.
