The PHXB-2218MMB is a professional-grade 22″ × 18″ bass drum from Yamaha’s flagship PHX (Phoenix) series. It features Yamaha’s signature hybrid shell construction combining Jatoba, Kapur, and Maple woods to produce a rich, balanced tone with deep lows, warm mids, and crisp highs.
The shell is approximately 10.3 mm thick and has a 30° bearing edge optimized for bass drums, giving it a punchy attack and focused sustain. The “R” designation means the shell is undrilled, allowing for maximum resonance and natural vibration.
