Shell Construction

• Hybrid 11-ply shell, approximately 10.3 mm thick for toms:

  • Core: Jatoba — an extremely dense and heavy wood that adds low-end punch.

  • Middle plies: Kapur — enhances warmth and projection.

  • Inner & outer plies: North American maple — smooths out high frequencies and adds a refined tone.

• The hybrid design provides maximum dynamic range, tonal complexity, and resonance.

⚙️ Hardware & Details

• Bearing Edge: 30° rounded edge (R4 radius) for toms — helps deliver warmth and longer sustain.

• Mounting System: Y.E.S.S. II (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) — isolates the drum shell from hardware contact, letting it resonate freely.

• Lugs: Hook lugs — reduce shell contact, stabilize tuning, and allow more pure shell vibration.

• Hoops: 3 mm aluminum die-cast hoops — lighter than traditional die-cast, balancing articulation with open tone.

• Drum heads: Equipped with Yamaha Remo clear Ambassador batter and bottom heads.
