Shell Construction

• 11-ply hybrid shell — about 10.3 mm thick for toms:

  • Core layers: Jatoba — very dense, providing strong low-end and power.

  • Middle plies: Kapur — adds warmth and midrange projection.

  • Inner & outer plies: North American maple — smooths out high frequencies, giving a refined top-end character.

• This hybrid construction offers exceptional dynamic range, tonal depth, and projection.

⚙️ Hardware & Details

• Bearing edge: Rounded 30° (R4 profile) — supports warmth, sustain, and easy tuning.

• Mounting system: Y.E.S.S. II (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) — isolates the shell from direct contact, allowing full shell resonance.

• Lugs: Exclusive Yamaha hook lugs — reduce shell contact, improve tuning stability, and provide a sleek look.

• Hoops: 3 mm aluminum die-cast hoops — lighter than standard die-cast hoops, maintaining punch while allowing more shell tone to come through.

• Drum heads: Equipped with Yamaha-branded Remo Clear Ambassador batter and resonant heads for versatile sound right out of the box.
