The Yamaha RBS-1455WLN Recording Custom Snare Drum (14" x 5.5") is designed to deliver the iconic Recording Custom sound — crisp, punchy, and highly articulate.

Built with a 6-ply, 6 mm North American birch shell, this snare produces a bright attack, clear projection, and controlled overtones, making it a favorite for studio and live applications alike. The birch construction, combined with Yamaha’s precise 30° bearing edge and R1.5 radius, ensures fast response and excellent dynamic sensitivity across all playing styles.

It features 1.6 mm triple-flanged steel hoops for an open, resonant tone with a comfortable rim feel. The Q-type throw-off strainer and DC3 butt plate offer smooth, stable snare wire engagement, while the 25-strand high-carbon steel wires give it a crisp, bright snare articulation.

Outfitted with 10 one-piece lugs, the shell maintains greater resonance and allows for precise, stable tuning. The snare comes factory-fitted with Remo Coated Ambassador batter and Ambassador Snare Side heads for balanced, ready-to-play tone.
