The Yamaha RBT-0807RW is an 8" x 7" rack tom from Yamaha’s legendary Recording Custom series, designed in collaboration with Steve Gadd to deliver superior tonal clarity and projection.

This tom features a 6-ply (6 mm) North American birch shell, known for its bright attack, crisp articulation, and strong low-end punch. The focused sound makes it ideal for recording and live performance, cutting clearly through any mix.

A 30° bearing edge with R1.5 radius ensures optimal head-to-shell contact, allowing for quick response and broad tuning range. The weighted high-tension lugs (a special design from Yamaha) help reduce unwanted overtones and enhance sustain.

The tom uses 1.6 mm triple-flanged steel hoops, providing an open, resonant sound while making rimshots and tuning easy and consistent.

For mounting, it is equipped with Yamaha’s Y.E.S.S. (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System), which minimizes shell contact to maximize resonance and maintain tonal purity.

The Real Wood (RW) finish offers a natural, elegant look with beautiful wood grain, complementing the drum’s high-end aesthetic and professional appeal.
