The Yamaha RBT-0807WLN is an 8″ × 7″ rack tom from the legendary Recording Custom series, designed in collaboration with Steve Gadd to deliver the most refined birch tom sound possible.

It features a 6-ply (6 mm) North American birch shell, known for its sharp attack, clear projection, and warm, controlled sustain. This makes it ideal for both recording and live applications where definition and articulation are critical.

The 30° bearing edge with R1.5 rounded radius maximizes head contact, enhancing attack and providing a broader tuning range.

The tom is equipped with Yamaha’s weighted high-tension one-piece lugs, which help control unwanted overtones and increase sustain without the need for additional shell damping.

It uses 1.6 mm triple-flanged steel hoops, providing an open, natural tone and comfortable feel for rimshots or cross-stick playing.

The Y.E.S.S. (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system minimizes contact with the shell, allowing for maximum resonance and sustain while providing rock-solid stability.

Its elegant Classic Walnut (WLN) gloss finish shows off the natural wood grain beautifully, giving it a premium, timeless look that stands out on stage or in the studio.
