The Soundcraft EPM focuses strongly on high-quality construction and exceptional audio performance, with a straightforward control layout that avoids unnecessary features. This affordable mixer incorporates modern technologies and design innovations. It uses surface-mount technology and precision components to ensure accurate and consistent EQ and gain control settings.
At the heart of the EPM is the GB30 microphone preamp, developed by Graham Blyth to mark Soundcraft’s 30th anniversary. This preamp, also found in the LX7ii and GB Series mixers, offers high-resolution gain adjustment across a 55dB range and delivers an impressive +22dB of headroom. Professional 48V phantom power supports all types of condenser microphones.
A standout feature of the EPM is its advanced signal monitoring system with a PEAK LED. This LED monitors signal levels from multiple points within the channel and gets brighter as the signal nears clipping, providing clear visual feedback. For precise channel control, the EPM uses 60mm high-quality faders similar to those in Soundcraft’s larger consoles.
The headphone and monitor outputs operate simultaneously, allowing performers to use headphones while the engineer listens through studio monitors.
