The Yamaha SBT-1208CR is a 12-inch × 8-inch rack tom from the Stage Custom Birch series. It features a 100% birch shell, constructed from six thin plies to achieve a bright, focused, and punchy sound with strong projection. The birch material enhances high and mid frequencies while providing a controlled low end, making it versatile across different music styles.

The shell is designed using Yamaha’s diagonal seam construction, which improves shell integrity and resonance. It uses Yamaha’s YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system, which supports the tom securely without restricting its natural vibration and sustain.

The drum is equipped with triple-flanged steel hoops for open tone and easy tuning. It comes fitted with Remo clear drumheads on both the batter and resonant sides.

This tom features a high-gloss Cranberry Red lacquer finish, giving it a striking and professional appearance on stage or in the studio. The low-mass lugs reduce shell contact, further enhancing resonance and sustain.
