The Yamaha SBT-1208DUS is a 12-inch × 8-inch rack tom from the Stage Custom Birch series, finished in a striking Deep Blue Sunburst. It is crafted with a 100% birch shell, using six thin plies to create a bright, punchy, and well-defined tone. Birch naturally enhances high and mid frequencies while delivering a controlled low end, making it ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

The shell is constructed using Yamaha’s diagonal seam method, which improves roundness and strengthens resonance. The drum uses Yamaha’s YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mount, which holds the tom securely while allowing it to resonate freely without choking the sound.

It features triple-flanged steel hoops for an open, vibrant tone and easy tuning. The tom is equipped with clear drumheads on both sides, providing a balanced, crisp attack and smooth sustain.

The Deep Blue Sunburst finish is a high-gloss lacquer that highlights the natural wood grain, giving the drum an elegant and modern look on stage or in the studio. Low-mass lugs reduce shell contact, allowing for maximum resonance and sustain.
