Yamaha SBT-1208NW — Description

The Yamaha SBT-1208NW is a 12" × 8" rack tom from the Stage Custom Birch series, featuring a natural wood (NW) high-gloss finish that beautifully highlights the grain of the birch shell.

The drum shell is constructed from 6 plies of 100% birch, a wood known for its bright attack, focused tone, and excellent projection. Yamaha’s diagonal shell seam construction ensures superior shell roundness and resonance.

It features Yamaha’s YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system, which allows the drum to vibrate freely for maximum sustain and clarity. Low-mass lugs minimize shell contact, preserving natural resonance and making tuning more precise.

The tom is fitted with triple-flanged steel hoops, providing an open, lively sound and easier tuning adjustments. Factory-fitted clear heads offer a versatile tone right out of the box, suitable for many styles, from rock and pop to jazz and fusion.
