The Soundcraft Vi600 System Control Module is an official upgrade kit for legacy Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixing consoles. It modernizes the console’s internal control electronics by replacing the original “silver box” control module with a newer, higher-performance processor and graphics system capable of running current Soundcraft software.

Description

When installed, the upgrade allows an existing Vi6 console to retain its original physical appearance while internally operating and identifying as a Vi600 on the system menu. The new control module runs a variant of Soundcraft’s V6.x software platform, delivering improved responsiveness, updated graphics, and expanded control features.

System Limitations

Despite the control upgrade, certain limitations remain due to the original Vi6 surface and DSP architecture:

• 128-channel input operation is not enabled, remaining constrained by existing hardware and Local Rack configuration.

• 96 kHz sample-rate operation is not supported.

• Advanced processing features such as BSS DPR901ii Dynamic EQ and vMIX automatic microphone mixing are not available.
