Description
The U851RWB is a cardioid condenser boundary microphone designed for surface-mount applications (conference rooms, houses of worship, recording/AV installations, etc.). It uses a fixed-charge back-plate condenser capsule and operates on phantom power. The microphone features a low-profile design with a die-cast case, foam bottom pads to reduce coupling of surface vibrations, and a rotating output connector so the cable can exit from either the rear or the bottom.
Key Features
-
Cardioid polar pattern (half-cardioid above the mounting surface) for good off-axis rejection and high gain before feedback.
-
Frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
-
Built-in switchable low-cut (roll-off) filter at 80 Hz (18 dB/octave) to reduce rumble and low-frequency build-up.
-
UniPoint® small-diameter element placed near the mounting boundary to minimize phase distortion and improve clarity.
-
UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology for improved rejection of radio-frequency interference (from wireless devices, fluorescent lighting, air-conditioning, etc.).
