The Iridium Desktop MK2 builds on Waldorf’s renowned multi-engine synthesis platform, taking inspiration from the Quantum and Iridium series while pushing sound design capabilities even further. This updated version features a refined design along with an upgraded CPU, expanded RAM, and increased flash storage—unlocking greater sample capacity and more advanced synthesis possibilities.

With enhanced memory, the MK2 supports up to four multi-timbral layers, allowing users to create complex arrangements using layered, split, round-robin, and random-robin modes. These features make it an excellent choice for sound designers, composers, and electronic musicians seeking depth and flexibility in their creations.

A standout addition is the innovative “Seeds” synthesis method, which expands wavetable-style sound shaping by dynamically generating timbral changes using sub-oscillators. This introduces a new level of movement and expression in sound design.

The “Flavour” control adds subtle variations in timing, pitch, and tone, bringing a more organic and lively character to sounds. Meanwhile, the per-note parameter locks, developed in collaboration with Aphex Twin, allow each of the 128 notes to store individual parameter variations, offering unparalleled precision and creative control within a single patch.
