Featuring an 88-key Graded Hammer 3 (GH3) keyboard with synthetic ivory and ebony keytops, it provides a responsive, natural touch and excellent control, even in rapid passages.
It uses Yamaha’s acclaimed CFX concert grand piano sampling, offering a rich, expressive sound with deep resonance. Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) further enhances realism by simulating the subtle interactions inside an acoustic piano.
Equipped with a three-pedal unit supporting half-damper control, the YDP-165R allows for detailed expression similar to an acoustic grand. It also features 10 high-quality voices, 192-note polyphony, and powerful 20W x 2 speakers with tone escapement for clear, spacious sound.
For practice and learning, it includes Duo mode, a built-in metronome, and compatibility with Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app, which lets you control settings and display sheet music from a smart device.
