The DX168 is a portable I/O expander / stage‑box from Allen & Heath. It provides extra inputs and outputs over a digital mixing system — useful when you need more mic‑ins/line‑ins and outs that are physically remote from the mixer (e.g. on stage, in another room, or for larger setups).

• 16 XLR mic/line inputs with built‑in preamps and +48 V phantom‑power support (suitable for condenser mics)

• 8 XLR line‑level outputs for mains, monitors, outboard gear, or external routing

• Single‑cable connection (Cat5e / EtherCon DX link) — connects to your mixer’s DX port or via another DX expander for remote I/O networking

• Cascade / redundant mode — you can daisy‑chain a second DX unit (or a compatible expander) or use redundant connection for reliability
