The BOSS BR-80 MICRO BR is a compact portable digital recorder designed to provide musicians with a complete recording and practice studio that can be taken anywhere. It combines three powerful operating modes—MTR multitrack recording, eBand backing and training, and Live Rec stereo recording—giving musicians flexible tools for songwriting, practice, performance preparation, and music production.

The MTR mode provides eight-track simultaneous playback with 64 V-Tracks, along with dedicated rhythm tracks and built-in recording tools such as EQ, reverb, and mastering effects. The eBand mode allows musicians to play along with backing tracks, adjust playback speed and pitch for practice, and use Center Cancel to reduce vocals or solos from prerecorded material.

For quick recording, the Live Rec mode uses the built-in high-quality stereo condenser microphones to capture vocals, instruments, rehearsals, and musical ideas directly to an SD or SDHC memory card. The BR-80 also includes COSM amp modeling and a wide selection of effects for guitar, bass, vocals, and other sources. When connected to a computer, it can function as a USB audio interface for recording and playback.
