The BOSS HM-2W Heavy Metal is a modern Waza Craft reissue of the legendary HM-2 distortion pedal, bringing back the iconic aggressive tone that helped define Swedish death metal while adding refinements for today’s players. Known for its distinctive “chainsaw” character, the HM-2W can produce massive, saturated distortion with powerful mids, aggressive attack, and plenty of tonal flexibility for metal, rock, shoegaze, and other heavy styles.

The HM-2W features an authentic analog circuit that recreates the sound and response of the original HM-2. In Standard mode, players get the classic HM-2 character with improvements including a lower noise floor and a 3 dB increase in maximum output level. The familiar controls allow you to shape the distortion, low frequencies, high frequencies, and overall color of the sound, making it possible to create everything from moderately driven tones to extreme full-control settings.

Custom mode takes the classic HM-2 character further with additional gain and a more aggressive response. It enhances the fundamental guitar tone for greater attack and clarity while adjusting the low and high-mid characteristics for increased fullness and definition. This gives the pedal additional versatility while maintaining the signature personality that made the original famous.

As part of the Waza Craft series, the HM-2W also includes a premium buffer for improved clarity and signal integrity when the pedal is bypassed. BOSS has carefully retained the original orange-and-black appearance and familiar control layout, giving longtime HM-2 users the recognizable look and feel of the classic pedal.
