Description
The Oberheim TEO‑5 is a modern 5‑voice analog synthesizer that channels the spirit of classic Oberheim instruments while offering contemporary versatility. It features two analog VCOs per voice, capable of through-zero FM, for a wide range of warm, evolving tones. The signature SEM‑style filter adds classic character, and the modulation matrix makes deep sound shaping possible. With a semi-weighted 44-key Fatar keyboard complete with aftertouch, plus built-in effects, arpeggiator, and a 64‑step polyphonic sequencer, the TEO-5 is designed for both expressive performance and deep sound design.
Key Features
-
5‑Voice Polyphony: Each voice has 2 VCOs plus a sub-oscillator for rich, layered textures.
-
Waveforms: Oscillators offer triangle, sawtooth, variable pulse, and noise.
-
Through-Zero FM & X‑Mod: Powerful modulation possibilities for complex, evolving sounds.
-
Classic SEM Filter: Multimode filter (low-pass → notch → high-pass) with a selectable band-pass mode.
-
Envelopes: Two 5-stage DADSR envelopes (for filter and amp), with velocity modulation.
-
LFOs: Two LFOs with five waveforms (triangle, saw, reverse saw, square, random) and tempo sync.
-
Vintage Knob: Introduces subtle variations in oscillator behavior, emulating vintage analog circuitry.
-
Arpeggiator: Multi-mode arpeggiator with 3-octave range and multiple direction options.
-
Sequencer: 64‑step polyphonic sequencer with ties and rests for complex patterns.
-
Effects: Two internal effects – one reverb, and a second multi-effect (delay, chorus, flanger, phase shifter, ring modulator, distortion, lo-fi, rotating speaker, etc.). Plus a dedicated overdrive.
