The Radial Engineering Backtrack Stereo Audio Switcher is a compact dual-source automatic backup and failover interface designed to ensure uninterrupted playback of stereo audio in live performance, touring, and broadcast environments.

Built for reliability when using modern playback devices such as laptops, tablets, or media players, the Backtrack continuously monitors a primary stereo input and a backup source, automatically switching to the secondary feed if signal loss, dropout, or failure is detected. This makes it an essential safeguard for backing tracks, click tracks, and stereo program audio in live shows.

The unit accepts flexible input connections, including 3.5mm stereo mini-jack and 1/4" TRS inputs, allowing easy integration with consumer devices, professional audio interfaces, and stage playback systems. Once processed, the signal is delivered through transformer-isolated direct outputs (DI outs) to eliminate ground loops and ensure clean, noise-free transmission to mixing consoles or PA systems.
