The Roland GLC-1 is a standalone music conferencing and communication system designed for group piano instruction, music ensemble teaching, language laboratories, and other educational environments that require clear two-way communication. Its integrated design eliminates the need for external computers or software, providing a straightforward solution for instructors and students.

The system includes a rack-mountable central hub, conference controller, nine GLC-SB interface boxes, connectors, cables, and headsets for easy setup. The GLC-1 supports up to eight stations as supplied and can be expanded to as many as 48 stations with optional GLC-EXPKIT expansion kits.

External audio sources such as CD players, computers, and music teaching systems can be connected for playback, while the MON output allows lectures, lessons, and performances to be sent to an external recording device.
