Unlike traditional kick pedals that use a beater striking a kick pad, the KT-9 uses a beaterless design to eliminate the impact noise produced by a conventional beater. Roland testing shows approximately 85% less noise in the playing space and 63% less noise transmitted to rooms below compared with the Roland KD-9 with a standard beater-equipped pedal.

The KT-9 has a small footprint that fits easily into compact drum setups. Its stable feet help keep the pedal firmly in position, while the toe stopper provides a consistent foot position for comfortable and controlled playing.

The pedal works with Roland V-Drums sound modules and electronic percussion products equipped with 1/4-inch trigger inputs. It can also be combined with Roland NE-10 Noise Eater isolation boards and NE-1 isolation feet for additional noise reduction.
