The Roland RD-2000 EX is a professional 88-key digital stage piano that combines Roland’s most advanced piano technologies with powerful sound engines, extensive performance controls, and a comprehensive selection of sounds. Designed for demanding performers, it delivers premium piano expression while functioning as a versatile controller and multi-purpose stage instrument.

At the heart of the RD-2000 EX are two independent sound engines, including Roland’s V-Piano technology for highly expressive acoustic piano performance. Unlike traditional sample-based systems, V-Piano uses advanced modeling to reproduce the complex interaction and response of an acoustic piano, providing natural dynamics, detailed tonal control, and full polyphony.

The instrument also includes two pre-installed V-Piano Expansion titles: German Concert and Essential Upright. These provide additional piano voices, ranging from the powerful character of a concert grand to the more intimate and distinctive sound of a premium upright piano.

For electric piano enthusiasts, the RD-2000 EX features SuperNATURAL technology with a collection of classic electric piano sounds. It also includes recreations of the legendary RD-1000 and MKS-20, along with vintage-inspired effects based on iconic Roland and BOSS processors.

Beyond piano sounds, the RD-2000 EX provides more than 1,100 SuperNATURAL sounds covering organs, synthesizers, clavs, harpsichords, strings, brass, world instruments, and other keyboard sounds. Virtual ToneWheel organs include authentic drawbar control and rotary effects, while the extensive controller section provides hands-on access to sound shaping and performance functions.
