The Shure A95UF is a passive line‑matching transformer designed to adapt professional low‑impedance balanced microphones to high‑impedance unbalanced inputs, or vice versa. It enables use of long microphone cable runs with minimal signal degradation and reduces the common problems of high‑frequency loss, level loss, and hum or noise pickup when connecting mismatched impedance devices. It is compact, rugged, and does not require external power.
