The BOSS DD-500 is a professional-grade digital delay pedal designed for players who need exceptional sound quality, extensive editing capabilities, and flexible control for stage and studio applications. With 12 delay modes, advanced processing, patch memories, MIDI connectivity, and a built-in phrase looper, the DD-500 provides a comprehensive range of delay sounds from classic echoes to complex modern textures.

The DD-500 uses 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling rate throughout its signal processing for detailed and responsive sound. Its 12 delay modes cover vintage analog and tape-style effects, early digital delays, rhythmic patterns, reverse effects, pitch-shifted shimmer, filtered delays, slow-attack textures, and spacious ambience.

Each delay mode offers extensive sound-shaping options, including a four-band semi-parametric EQ, modulation, ducking, and additional mode-specific parameters. The large graphic LCD provides clear access to delay time, patch information, editing controls, and system settings, making the pedal easier to manage during performances.

The DD-500 also features freely assignable footswitch controls for tap tempo, hold, Warp, Twist, Roll, Fade, and other real-time effects. External footswitches, an expression pedal, and MIDI devices can further expand control. USB connectivity provides computer-based editing and patch backup through the dedicated DD-500 Editor.
