The BOSS DR-01S Rhythm Partner is a portable rhythm machine designed specifically for acoustic musicians. It provides organic percussion sounds and tasteful grooves that complement unplugged performances without overpowering the natural character of acoustic instruments. It is an ideal companion for acoustic guitar, vocals, ukulele, violin, piano, and many other instruments.

The DR-01S features an easy-to-use interface for selecting instrument categories, patterns, variations, volume, tempo, and other settings. Seven instrument categories can be played simultaneously, allowing you to layer different percussion patterns and create custom grooves in real time. Up to 50 favorite rhythm combinations can also be saved for quick recall.

Its integrated speaker system produces full, natural-sounding accompaniment in a compact package, while the line output allows connection to an acoustic amplifier or larger sound system. The auxiliary input also lets the DR-01S function as a speaker for a smartphone or other audio player.

For hands-free operation, optional footswitches can be connected to control functions such as start/stop, tempo adjustment, tap tempo, pattern variations, and sound triggering. Battery-powered operation with six AA batteries makes the DR-01S convenient for rehearsals, outdoor sessions, and mobile performances.
