The BOSS RE-2 Space Echo brings the legendary sound of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo into a compact, pedalboard-friendly format. Designed for guitarists, keyboard players, and electronic musicians, the RE-2 recreates the character of the classic multi-head tape echo along with its distinctive spring reverb and preamp coloration.

The RE-2 delivers authentic tape echo tones with expanded delay times compared to the original Space Echo. Its controls provide extensive sound-shaping capabilities, allowing players to create everything from short rockabilly slapback echoes and subtle ambience to spacious, heavily modulated dub-style delays.

The pedal also recreates the original Space Echo's spring reverb character, with stereo operation for a wide and immersive effect. Dedicated Wow & Flutter controls introduce natural tape-style modulation, allowing users to add pitch variation and movement for vintage-inspired sounds.

A key part of the original RE-201's character was its preamp stage, and the RE-2 models this tonal coloration as well. The preamp can be engaged to add harmonic character, presence, and warmth to the incoming signal, or bypassed to preserve the instrument's natural analog dry tone.

The RE-2 features a true stereo signal path, making it suitable for stereo guitar rigs, keyboards, drum machines, multi-amp setups, and studio applications. Tap tempo provides convenient hands-free control over delay timing, while the external footswitch/expression input expands the pedal's control options for live performance.
