The Roland EC-10 EL Cajon combines the natural feel and acoustic character of a traditional cajon with an integrated Roland electronic sound module. It allows players to layer electronic percussion sounds with the cajon's acoustic tones, adding greater depth, variety, and impact to performances.

The EC-10 includes 30 electronic kits featuring percussion sounds such as tambourines, djembes, snares, kicks, electronic drums, and special effects. Studio-optimized cajon sounds can also be layered with the natural acoustic sound of the instrument. Its sapele playing surface and independent head and edge sensors provide responsive triggering for expressive performances.

Designed for portability, the EC-10 features an integrated amplifier and speaker and can operate for up to 12 hours using six AA batteries. An Electronic Sound Out connection allows the cajon to be connected to a PA system, while the Mix In jack supports smartphones and other audio devices for backing tracks.
