The Roland OCTAPAD SPD-30 is a versatile digital percussion pad designed for drummers, percussionists, and live performers who need a powerful electronic percussion setup in a compact and rugged unit. With Version 2.0, the SPD-30 includes an expanded library of 99 kits, covering acoustic drums, electronic sounds, orchestral percussion, world percussion, melodic instruments, and club sounds.

The SPD-30 features Roland's advanced V-Drums triggering technology, providing responsive and accurate pad performance with excellent isolation and crosstalk rejection. Its eight built-in pads can be played individually or combined with external pads through four dual-trigger inputs and a dedicated hi-hat controller input, allowing you to create a customized mini electronic drum kit.

The built-in Phrase Loop function lets you record your playing in real time and create layered performances with up to three layers. Version 2 adds 50 preset phrases, velocity and footswitch control options, and the ability to save phrase data to USB memory. Kit Chains also make it easier to organize and switch between sounds during live performances.

For sound customization, the SPD-30 includes controls for tuning, muffling, attack, pitch sweep, and other parameters. Its 30 multi-effects, EQ, limiter, and seven ambience types provide additional options for shaping your performance sounds.

The SPD-30 features a large backlit LCD and illuminated pad indicators for easy operation in low-light environments. Its rugged construction makes it suitable for demanding live performances, while USB connectivity provides MIDI functionality and memory storage options.
