The Roland SPD-SX PRO is a flagship professional sampling pad designed for drummers, percussionists, producers, and live performers who need powerful sampling and performance control. Built for demanding stage use, it combines responsive pads, extensive storage, advanced triggering, flexible audio routing, and professional sound-processing features in a rugged, road-ready design.

The SPD-SX PRO features nine highly responsive pads with customizable multi-color LED lighting, making it easy to identify sounds and pad functions on dark stages. A large 4.3-inch color LCD display provides clear access to sample names, playback information, kit settings, and editing controls.

With 32GB of internal memory, the SPD-SX PRO stores nearly 44 hours of 48kHz/16-bit stereo audio. It comes loaded with 1,550 samples and 200 kits, while supporting WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files. The built-in time-stretching function allows audio files to follow the kit tempo without needing to edit them in a DAW.

The SPD-SX PRO provides advanced sound customization with A/B sample layering, allowing two samples to be assigned to a single pad and played together or alternated. Four MFX engines offer effects such as distortion, modulation, filters, delays, and reverbs, while sidechain compression helps maintain clarity and impact in live mixes.

For professional stage setups, the SPD-SX PRO features balanced stereo master outputs plus four assignable mono outputs, providing six individual audio feeds for flexible mixing. Expanded trigger connections support up to 19 playable surfaces when using the built-in pads, external triggers, footswitches, and compatible hi-hat controllers.

The dedicated SPD-SX PRO App makes it easy to import samples, organize kits, edit settings, and manage sounds from a computer. USB connectivity also supports multi-channel audio and MIDI recording with a DAW. Additional performance tools include a 16-step pad sequencer, Pad Link, mute groups, click track control, expression pedal support, and SPD-SX backup compatibility.
