The Roland PD-14DSX is a 14-inch digital snare drum pad designed to provide an extremely realistic playing experience with Roland V-Drums systems. It combines high-resolution triggering, detailed positional sensing, and advanced playing detection to accurately capture everything from soft ghost notes to powerful rimshots.

The pad provides more than 16,000 velocity variations for detailed and expressive performance. Automatic hand-position detection makes natural cross-stick playing possible, while the sensors also recognize rim clicks, rimshots, and brush strokes.

The PD-14DSX is designed to feel like a real acoustic snare. It features a triple-flange hoop, standard rim height, a slightly shallow 4.3-inch shell depth, and eight tension rods. Its tunable three-ply mesh head allows players to adjust rebound and playing response to their preferred feel.

A realistic snare throw-off lever allows you to turn the virtual snares on and off, with an LED indicator showing the current setting. The knurled snare tension knob adjusts virtual snare tension, while its built-in button can be assigned to functions such as tap tempo, snapshot, click start/stop, and all sound off.

The PD-14DSX is designed for use with the Roland V71 and TD-50X sound modules, although some functions may vary depending on the connected module.
