The TR-6S features detailed circuit models of classic Roland machines including the TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, TR-707, TR-727, and CR-78, along with modified versions for additional sonic possibilities. These sounds can be combined with the TR-6S’s extensive preset sample library, custom user samples, and editable FM sound engine to create unique hybrid drum kits. A dedicated TR-808 chromatic bass instrument also allows you to program basslines directly from the rhythm machine.

Its advanced six-track sequencer combines the classic TR-REC workflow with modern performance features. Sub steps allow for detailed ratcheted patterns, while flam, step loop, probability, sub-step probability, and master probability provide extensive control over rhythmic variations. Motion recording captures parameter movements for evolving patterns, while real-time recording allows you to perform beats naturally and add expressive changes as you create.

The TR-6S also includes a powerful collection of sound-shaping effects, with compressors, EQ, reverb, delay, modulation effects, filters, LFOs, and creative effects for adding punch, space, warmth, movement, and character to your rhythms. Dedicated faders and knobs provide hands-on control, making it easy to adjust sounds and mix your patterns without interrupting your creative workflow.
