The BOSS IR-2 is a compact amplifier and cabinet simulator designed to deliver authentic amp tones and realistic speaker responses in a standard BOSS stompbox format. With 11 carefully developed amplifier models, the IR-2 covers everything from sparkling clean sounds and vintage-style crunch to aggressive high-gain tones. Each amplifier model is paired with a custom-curated Celestion speaker cabinet impulse response for a complete amp-and-cabinet sound without requiring a physical amplifier.

The IR-2 provides a straightforward control layout with an amp selector and intuitive knobs for Gain, Level, three-band EQ, and Ambience. This makes it easy to shape your sound quickly without navigating complicated menus or screens. You can also switch between two amp and cabinet combinations during performance using the pedal switch or an optional external footswitch.

For expanded flexibility, the IR-2 supports third-party speaker cabinet impulse responses through its USB-C connection and dedicated IR loading software. The USB-C port also allows the pedal to function as a convenient audio interface for direct recording and playback with a computer. A headphone output provides a practical solution for silent practice and recording.
