The BOSS IR-200 is a powerful amp and cabinet processor designed to provide professional direct guitar and bass tones for live performance, recording, practice, and streaming. Its compact pedalboard-friendly design combines premium amplifier modeling with high-resolution impulse response processing, giving players a complete direct-rig solution without the need for a traditional amplifier and cabinet.

The IR-200 features eight guitar amplifier types and three bass amplifier types, covering a broad range of clean, vintage, classic, and modern high-gain sounds. Each amp provides responsive Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble controls for quickly shaping your core tone. The amplifier section can also be bypassed when you want to use the IR-200 strictly as a high-quality cabinet IR loader.

With 144 BOSS cabinet IRs and 10 Celestion Digital IRs built in, the IR-200 provides a wide variety of cabinet and microphone combinations. You can also load your own cabinet impulse responses through the dedicated IR Loader software, with 128 user IR locations for mono files or up to 64 stereo IRs. Two IRs can run simultaneously, allowing you to blend cabinet sounds or create expansive stereo tones.

The IR-200 provides 128 memories for storing complete setups, making it easy to recall different sounds for songs, performances, recording sessions, and practice. Advanced tone shaping includes two EQ sections per memory, two global EQs, three ambience options, and a flexible effects loop that can be positioned before the cabinet section or after the EQ.

For recording and computer-based production, the IR-200 works as a USB audio interface for Mac and Windows computers and provides stereo audio streaming with compatible iOS devices. A headphone output supports silent practice and monitoring, while the stereo AUX input allows you to play along with backing tracks from a phone or other audio source. External footswitches, expression pedals, and TRS MIDI provide additional control for complex live setups.
