The BOSS GX-10 is a compact and powerful amp and effects processor designed for guitarists and bassists who want professional-quality sound in a portable format. Built around the same core sound engine found in the GX-100, the GX-10 combines advanced AIRD amplifier modeling, a wide selection of effects, flexible signal routing, intuitive touchscreen control, and extensive connectivity for live performance, recording, songwriting, and practice.

The GX-10 provides authentic amplifier response and dynamic playing feel through BOSS AIRD technology. It includes 32 amplifier types, with dedicated guitar and bass options, along with 170 BOSS effects covering overdrive, distortion, modulation, delay, reverb, pitch effects, dynamics, and specialized bass processing. High-gain X-Ultra, X-Optima, and X-Titan amplifier types provide additional options for modern rock and metal tones.

Sound creation is quick and intuitive thanks to the large color touch display and four dynamic parameter knobs. Players can assign up to two amplifiers and 15 effects blocks within a memory, arrange effects in serial or parallel configurations, and change their signal-chain order directly on the touchscreen. The GX-10 also includes a send/return loop for incorporating external pedals into the signal chain.

The GX-10 provides flexible real-time control through three multifunction footswitches and an integrated expression pedal with toe switch. Different control modes allow the footswitches to operate as patch selectors, effect switches, or custom parameter controls. The assignable control system allows multiple parameters to be adjusted from a single switch, providing extensive control during live performances.

With 66 banks and 198 user memories, the GX-10 offers plenty of storage for custom sounds and complete performance setups. Players can organize patches for different songs, styles, gigs, and rehearsals, while BOSS Tone Studio provides additional tools for editing and organizing sounds.

The GX-10 also functions as a USB-C audio interface, allowing guitarists and bassists to record directly into compatible music production software on computers and mobile devices. BOSS Tone Studio can be used on macOS and Windows for detailed editing, patch organization, and speaker IR management. The GX-10 supports WAV speaker impulse responses for further customization of cabinet and speaker characteristics.

For mobile use, an optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor allows wireless editing and audio streaming from compatible iOS and Android devices. The GX-10 can also access BOSS Tone Exchange for downloading professionally created sounds and sharing Livesets. GX-100 Livesets are compatible with the GX-10, providing access to an expanded collection of tones.
