The BOSS KATANA-Artist MkII Head is a powerful 100-watt guitar amplifier head designed for professional performance, recording, and practice. It delivers the renowned Katana sound in a head-only format, featuring five amplifier characters with five variations for a wide range of clean, crunch, lead, and high-gain tones.

Powered by BOSS Tube Logic technology and a robust Class AB power amplifier, the KATANA-Artist MkII Head provides responsive playing dynamics, strong punch, and natural amplifier feel. Its Power Control function lets you achieve rich, driven tones at lower volume levels, making it suitable for both stage and home use.

The amplifier includes Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections with multiple variations, giving players extensive tone-shaping options without requiring a large collection of external pedals. A three-way Contour switch, Global EQ settings, and Solo boost provide additional control for shaping the overall sound and creating tones suited to different guitars, playing styles, and performance environments.

With BOSS Tone Studio, users can customize the amplifier with more than 60 BOSS effects, adjust effect routing and EQ settings, manage Livesets, and access additional tone-shaping functions. Eight Tone Setting memories allow customized sounds to be stored and recalled quickly during practice, recording, or live performances.

The KATANA-Artist MkII Head also features an effects loop, power amp input, USB audio, line output, and phones/recording output with built-in cabinet emulation. Five Air Feel settings allow further adjustment of the direct cabinet sound. Dual Link and Stereo Expand functions provide advanced options for connecting two compatible Katana amplifiers for stereo effects, wet/dry setups, and expanded stage sounds.
