The BOSS SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer Pedal delivers fat, punchy, analog-inspired synthesizer tones in a compact BOSS stompbox. Building on the original SYB-3, the SYB-5 uses advanced DSP technology to reproduce classic synth-bass characteristics with enhanced power, definition, and cutting tone. It is designed specifically for bassists who want to add deep synth textures, funky tones, and experimental sounds to their performances.

The SYB-5 features 11 DSP synth variations based on three classic oscillator waveforms: saw, square, and pulse. Each sound combines these waveforms with filters that respond to envelope and LFO changes, giving you a wide range of tones from thick and aggressive bass synths to sharper, more cutting textures.

The Enhanced Wave Shape mode provides even sharper and more pronounced synth sounds, making it easier for the bass signal to stand out in a full band mix. The SYB-5 also includes an onboard pedal that allows you to hold a synth note while continuing to play bass phrases over it, opening up creative possibilities for solos, grooves, and layered performances.

For additional real-time control, the SYB-5 includes an external expression pedal input compatible with the optional BOSS EV-5 Expression Pedal. This allows you to control parameters such as filter cutoff and LFO rate with your foot, giving you dynamic control over the character and movement of the synth sound while playing.
