The BOSS SY-200 Synthesizer Pedal brings a huge collection of expressive, analog-inspired synthesizer sounds to guitar and bass in a compact 200-series stompbox. Building on the intuitive design and technology of the SY-1, the SY-200 delivers an expanded sound library, deeper tone-shaping options, onboard memory, and flexible performance controls—all without requiring a special pickup.

The SY-200 includes 171 synth sounds organized into 12 categories, covering everything from leads, pads, strings, and organs to synth basses, bells, sweeping textures, sequenced tones, arpeggios, and sound effects. Each sound can be customized using three adjustable parameters, while the large display and hands-on controls make it easy to create and recall sounds during rehearsals, recording sessions, or live performances.

With 128 memory locations, the SY-200 allows you to save your favorite custom sounds and instantly recall them when needed. Two built-in footswitches provide extensive real-time control, including synth on/off, memory scrolling, pitch bend, and synth hold functions. Additional control is available through up to two external footswitches, an expression pedal, or MIDI devices.

The SY-200 works with any guitar or bass using a standard 1/4-inch cable, eliminating the need for special pickups. Its advanced BOSS DSP technology provides responsive, latency-free performance that naturally follows your playing. Dedicated guitar and bass modes optimize the synth engine for the instrument being used.

For flexible pedalboard integration, the SY-200 features a parallel send/return loop that allows external effects to be blended with the synth signal. Separate level controls also make it possible to balance your direct guitar or bass sound with the synthesized tone or route signals to different destinations.

The SY-200 provides extensive connectivity with MIDI I/O through space-saving 3.5 mm TRS jacks, support for external footswitches and expression pedals, and a Micro USB port for firmware updates. It can run from a PSA-series AC adapter or three AA batteries, making it a versatile option for both studio and stage use.
