The BOSS GT-1 Guitar Multi-Effects Processor delivers professional-quality tones and extensive sound-shaping capabilities in a compact and lightweight design. Powered by the same advanced BOSS GT-series processing technology found in larger multi-effects units, the GT-1 provides a wide selection of amplifiers, effects, and specialized guitar sounds for practice, recording, live performance, and mobile playing.

The GT-1 includes a broad collection of BOSS effects, ranging from classic overdrive and distortion sounds to modulation, delay, reverb, and modern effects powered by BOSS MDP technology. COSM amplifier modeling provides access to a variety of vintage-inspired and BOSS original amp tones, while Acoustic Simulator, Guitar Simulator, and other specialized effects expand the range of available sounds. A built-in looper also makes the GT-1 useful for practicing, songwriting, and live performance.

Designed for musicians on the move, the GT-1 features a streamlined enclosure without hard edges, making it easy to carry in a guitar bag without damaging other equipment. It can operate using an AC adapter or four AA batteries, providing up to seven hours of battery-powered operation for busking, rehearsals, and mobile performances.

Sound selection and editing are designed to be simple and intuitive. Easy Select allows players to find patches based on genre, distortion type, or effect category, while Easy Edit provides quick adjustments to drive, modulation, and echo settings. Dedicated controls also provide access to deeper parameters for more detailed tone customization.

Three footswitches provide convenient control over patch changes, tuner functions, looper operation, and other performance features. The assignable CTL1 switch can be programmed for functions such as tap tempo or effect activation, while the built-in expression pedal and toe switch can control volume, wah, and other parameters. An external control jack allows additional footswitches or an expression pedal to be connected when more hands-free control is required.

The GT-1 also works with BOSS Tone Studio and BOSS Tone Central, providing access to downloadable patches, editing tools, and patch management features. Its USB connection can also be used for connecting to a computer and recording directly into a compatible DAW.
